NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale is well represented on the 2023 All-Ivy women's tennis teams, which were announced by the league office on Thursday. Senior
Chelsea Kung was named first team in singles for the second straight season, while senior
Rhea Shrivastava earned second team recognition. Shrivastava and her partner
Vivian Cheng were selected to the second team in doubles. Shrivastava also earned Academic All-Ivy recognition.
It was another stellar season for Kung, who played predominantly No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs. In Ivy play, she posted victories over Dartmouth's Chidimma Okpara and Brown's Britany Lau. Kung also had a strong fall when she qualified for the ITA All-American Championship and won her opening round match.
Shrivastava posted victories against Cornell and Dartmouth in the No. 2 singles position and had a comfortable lead against Dartmouth when her match was stopped. In the fall, she qualified for the ITA Super Regionals.
Shrivastava and Cheng were Yale's No. 1 doubles team during Ivy play. They posted a record of 4-2 with one of their losses coming in a tiebreaker vs. Harvard.
Yale finished the spring with an 11-13 overall record against a challenging schedule that included a number of nationally ranked opponents.
