SHOOTING STARS

Dating back to last season, Maryland had gone nine straight games holding its opponents to 11 or fewer shots. The total was also the Bulldogs' most shots in a game since taking 13 in a 2-1 win at Dartmouth Oct. 29, 2022.
HOME AT LAST
Sept. 15 marks the latest first home game of the season for Yale since 2002, when the Bulldogs also opened the season on that day.
FIRST GOAL OF 2023 FOR BEALES
The goal on Sunday by sophomore forward

SCOUTING FAIRFIELD
Fairfield (3-1, 0-0 NEC) has held three of its first four opponents to one goal or less – then-No. 7 Iowa has been the only team to exceed that mark, beating the Stags 3-0 Sept. 1. Goalkeeper Payton Rahn is 11th in the NCAA in goals-against average (1.01) and 13th in save percentage (.789).
SCOUTING SACRED HEART
Sacred Heart (1-4, 0-0 NEC) has increased its offensive production dramatically from last season, when the Pioneers averaged 1.06 goals per game. They have scored 10 goals in five games so far this year. Yale
blanked SHU 1-0 last year on a goal by junior midfielder/forward
Ellie Barlow (Dunmow, Essex, England), with senior goalkeeper
Luanna Summer (St. Louis, Mo.) earning the shutout. Yale outshot the Pioneers 17-2.
