Yale-Dartmouth Saturday Afternoon at Lee

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team hosts Dartmouth Saturday at Lee Amphitheater (1:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets). The game includes a celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Last Game
Yale (3-13, 0-3 Ivy League) fell at Columbia 88-52 on Monday. Trailing by 10 after the first quarter, the Bulldogs played almost even with the Lions in the second (Columbia outscored Yale 22-17) but could not sustain that momentum into the second half.

Battle for the Scoring Lead
Senior guard Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomore guard Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.) are neck-and-neck for Yale's scoring lead. Clark is averaging 13.9 points per game and Capstraw is averaging 13.1. Both are on pace for career highs in scoring – Clark's current career high is 11.2 points per game (set in 2021-22) and Capstraw's is 9.2 points per game ( set last season).

Egger on a Roll
Junior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) has totaled 16 points and 14 rebounds in the last two games. Her 11 points at Columbia last Monday were a season high, and her 10 rebounds against Brown Jan. 13 were a career high.

Capstraw Sees Green Against Dartmouth
Sophomore guard Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.) shot a scintillating .500 (10-for-20) against Dartmouth last year, including a 3-for-5 performance on three pointers. She averaged a team-best 11.5 points per game in the two games, adding 5.5 rebounds per game.

A Look Back
Yale has won the last six games in the series vs. Dartmouth, all by double digits. The most recent victory came Feb. 4, 2023 at Lee Amphitheater. Senior guard Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and junior guard Nyla McGill (Charlotte, N.C.) had double-doubles in the Bulldogs' 69-56 win

National Girls and Women in Sports Day
Yale will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day Saturday. Prior to the game, various Yale varsity teams will host a multisports clinic for girls aged 12 and under starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Lanman Center (behind Payne Whitney Gym). The clinic is free for those with a game ticket. Clinic participants receive a free jump rope.

Scouting Dartmouth
Dartmouth (6-9, 0-3 Ivy League) has lost its three Ivy League games by an average of 21 points this season. The Big Green has lost 20 Ivy games in a row and has scored 40 or fewer points in its last seven league games. Dartmouth's last Ivy win was Feb. 18, 2022 (67-64 in overtime at Cornell).
