NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team opens the spring dual meet season by hosting Quinnipiac on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

It's the start of a busy pre-Ivy schedule for the Bulldogs, who don't play their first conference match until Mar. 30 against Brown. Non-Ivy matches feature several challenging opponents, including Indiana, Penn State, Florida International, Florida Atlantic and South Florida. In addition, Yale will compete in the ECAC Indoor Championships and the prestigious Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in February.

It was a successful fall season for the Bulldogs, who had four qualifiers for the ITA Super Regionals – Erin Ha in singles and doubles teams of Ha and Mirabelle Brettkelly and Ann Wright Guerry and Orly Ogilvy. Guerry and Ogilvy advanced to the doubles quarterfinals.

SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC

Quinnipiac, also playing its first match of the spring, is the MAAC preseason favorite. The Bobcats went 13-8 (6-0 MAAC) during the regular season in 2022-23, earning their ninth-straight MAAC regular season title. Since joining the conference in 2013-14, QU has won the regular season outright eight times and have compiled a dominating 60-1 MAAC regular season record over the timespan.
