Merrimack, Pacific at Lee This Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team concludes a stretch of three straight home games with a pair this week. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs host Merrimack (7:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets). On Sunday, they host Pacific (12:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets)
 
Last Week
Yale (1-3, 0-0 Ivy League) dropped a pair of games last week, falling 75-61 at Hofstra last Tuesday and 62-48 to Stony Brook on Friday. Senior forward Grace Thybulle (Irvington, N.Y.) was the Bulldogs' leading scorer for the week, averaging 11.5 points per game. She was followed by first-year guard Ke'iara Odume (Syracuse, N.Y.), who averaged 11.0 points per game.
 
Home Cooking
Yale is in the midst of a stretch of three straight home games, but after this the Bulldogs will be busy traveling. From Nov. 25 through Dec. 28 they play only one home game, and they have five road games in that span.
 
Bulldogs on the Boards
Yale is tied for the Ivy League lead in offensive rebounding. Both the Bulldogs and Columbia are averaging 14.8 offensive boards per game. Yale also has two of the top individual rebounders in the Ivy League. Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) ranks sixth (8.0 per game) and first-year guard Marisa Chapman (Middletown, N.Y.) ranks seventh (7.5 per game).
 
Egger Off to Hot Start
Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) leads Yale in scoring at 11.8 points per game. That is double her previous best average for a season (5.9 ppg, 2022-23). She is averaging a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game, which is five more than her previous best average for a season (3.0 rpg, 2023-24). She is also tied for third in the Ivy League with five blocks, nine away from her career high.
 
Scouting Merrimack
Merrimack (2-2, 0-0 MAAC), which is in its first season in the MAAC, topped Yale 84-73 last season in North Andover. Junior guard Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.) led the Bulldogs with 17 points, one of four Bulldogs to score in double digits.
 
Scouting Pacific
Pacific (2-1, 0-0 WCC), which plays at Columbia Wednesday, is coming off a 19-15 performance last season that included a 66-59 win over Yale. The game was a back-and-forth affair that included 11 lead changes. The Bulldogs led by eight with 8:45 to play before the Tigers rallied for the win.
