NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's basketball team will square off with Stony Brook for a mid-week tilt on the road. It is the second of a five-game trip away from John J. Lee Amphitheater. The Bulldogs will play two neutral site games and one more road game before they return home on Dec. 7 against Vermont. 
 
Last Time Out

• The Bulldogs fell to Big 10 opponent, Minnesota, 59-56, on Nov. 16 in Minneapolis.
• Yale had a 37-34 advantage in rebounding. The Bulldogs have been out-rebounded just once in their first five games.
• Yale led by as many as 14 points. The Bulldogs trailed 7-2 before going on an extended 23-4 run that put them up 25-11 at the 3:06 mark of the first half.
• The Bulldogs hit nine of 12 free throws, the second time this season they have shot .750 or better from the charity stripe.
• The Bulldogs had five players finish in double digits. That is the second time they have achieved that feat in the last three games.
• Yale's first six baskets came from six different players.

• Three Bulldogs are averaging in double figure points per game. John Poulakidas averages 20.4 points per game, Bez Mbeng is averaging 11.8, while Nick Townsend is averaging 10.0 points per game.
• John Poulakidas has scored in double-figures in every game and hit the 20-point mark in three of those contests.
• Isaac Celiscar continues to be effective for Yale through the first stretch of the season. The first year is shooting 53% from the field (16-30).
• Yale's three-point shooting percentage has been a bright spot. They are 41% from beyond the arc, compared to their opponents who are shooting 28%.
• The Bulldogs are also outrebounding their opponents 197-156.
• Head coach James Jones, in his 26^th season at the helm, is two wins shy of 400 career wins.

 
A Look at History

• It will be the sixth time that Yale and Stony Brook will face one another and the third-straight season.
• Yale leads the all-time series 4-1 and have won two-straight.
• The first meeting was in 2001, an 82-62 Bulldog victory at the Red Auerbach Classic in Washington, D.C.
• Last time out, then-sophomore Nick Townsend had a career day with 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead Yale to a 79-71 victory over the Seawolves on Nov. 29, 2023.

 
Scouting the Seawolves

• Stony Brook is coming off a commanding 93-45 win over St. Joseph's Long Island on Nov. 16.
• CJ Luster led all players with 30 points on the night, while chipping in nine rebounds and two steals.
• Luster is Stony Brook's offensive threat. He is averaging 14.5 points per game and is shooting 45% from three-point range and 43-percent from the field this season.
• The Stony Brook defense forced 13 turnovers and blocked five shots.
