Bulldogs Top Cornell to Advance in Ivy Tournament

Yale will face Princeton in the championship match on Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Bulldogs defeated Cornell on Friday night to advance to the Ivy League Tournament Championship match.  The scores of the match were 21-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-21.

Match summary:
  • The Bulldogs advanced to the title game for the third time in three years.
  • Yale hit. 328 as a team and held a 60-45 edge in kills.
  • Betsy Goodenow had 19 kills and hit .594 without an error on 32 swings.  She also added seven digs and five blocks.
  • Gigi Barr had 10 kills on 18 swings without an error and hit .556.
  • Lauren Kellen had a season-high 17 kills.
  • Yale held a 9-5 advantage in aces, led by Cara Shultz who had three.
  • Carly Diehl had 41 assists, 12 digs and four kills.

  • The Bulldogs will face Princeton at 6 p.m. in the Ivy League Tournament championship game.
