EAST LANSING, Mich. – Four Michigan State players reached double digits in scoring Friday night at the Breslin Center as the Spartans topped the Yale women's basketball team 100-44. The Bulldogs were led by eight points and 10 rebounds from senior guard/forward
Mackenzie Egger, a Michigan native.
Michigan State, an NCAA Tournament team last year, began pulling away with a 19-5 run over the final 7:32 of the first quarter, after a jumper by junior guard
Kiley Capstraw had pulled Yale within 6-4. The Spartans led 50-18 at halftime.
The third quarter was the closest of them all, with Michigan State edging Yale 17-16 in that frame. First-year guard
Ke'iara Odume scored seven points in the quarter.
MSU outscored Yale 33-10 in the fourth to finish off the win. Yale falls to 1-1 on the season while Michigan State improves to 2-0.
