Presthus Named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Senior TJ Presthus of the Yale men's soccer team was named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Team as announced by the organization on Thursday morning. Presthus landed on the second team after a stellar season both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Presthus, an economics major, has recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.58 and is one of three Ivy League players to land on this year's list. He is the first Yale player to earn the recognition since Nick Downs in 2018.

The Ohio native and 2024 team captain concluded his collegiate career as a three-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection. He finished his senior season second on the team with four goals and anchored the Bulldogs' back line. Presthus ended his Yale tenure as one of the most decorated players in program history. He started every game of this four-year career and was a three-time All-Ivy League selection. In 2023, he was the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and helped the Bulldogs win the inaugural Ivy League Tournament.

Student-athletes on this year's Scholar All-America Teams will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, in Chicago, Ill., in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
