LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Yale men's tennis team's first road victory of the spring was impressive as the Bulldogs edged Liberty 4-3. It certainly didn't come easily. Yale lost the doubles point but rallied in singles.
Yale improved to 5-1 with the victory.
Two of the Bulldogs' four singles victories came in three sets.
Vignesh Gogineni won a deciding set 6-4 at No. 2, and
Eric Li captured the third set of his match 6-2 at No. 3.
Jim Ji won in straight sets at No. 4 but went to tiebreakers in both sets.
Walker Oberg had a little easier time in his straight sets win at No. 6 as he only needed to win a tiebreaker in the second set.
Next up for the Bulldogs are the ECAC Indoor Championships next weekend at Harvard.
