CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Yale women's tennis team dropped a thriller in the final of the ECAC Indoor Championship at Harvard. The Lions, seeded third, edged No. 5 Yale 4-3.
The loss was the first of the spring for the Bulldogs (6-1). Columbia is 9-1.
Yale was seeking its first ECAC championship since 2012 when the Bulldogs won the tournament for the fourth straight year.
The Lions won the doubles point, but the Bulldogs still nearly pulled out the match.
Orly Ogilvy cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 1 position.
Ann Wright Guerry, at No. 5, and
Rebecca Lynn, at No. 6, also were straight-sets singles winners.
