Bulldogs Edge Villanova in Snowy Season Opener

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It was an eventful day at Reese Stadium as the Yale men's lacrosse team welcomed Villanova to New Haven for a snowy season opener. The Bulldogs took down the Wildcats in a thrilling 13-11 win.
 
How It Happened
  • After a high-scoring first quarter, the Bulldogs pulled out of the first frame with a two-goal lead behind contributions from five different goal scorers.
  • The second quarter saw David Anderson and Matt Brandau heat up. The pair were involved in four of the Bulldogs' five goals.
  • Villanova started to find an offensive groove after the intermission, outscoring the Bulldogs 4-1 in the third quarter.
  • The game was tied at 11-11 when Carson Kuhl played the hero late in the fourth quarter with back-to-back goals to secure the home victory for Yale.

  • Brandau moved into second all-time in career assists surpassing Jackson Morrill (2017-2020).
  • Brandau led all players with six points (two goals, four assists).
