NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team dropped the final game of the regular season to No. 6 Cornell on Saturday afternoon at Ingalls Rink. The Big Red defeated the Bulldogs 2-1 to clinch the Ivy League regular season title.

Elle Hartje scored the long goal for the Elis, tallying her 164th career point. The mark ties her with Maria Dennis (1984-88) for the most all-time in program history.
"This one came down to the wire and we had plenty of chances to tie it up in the third," said
Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanaugh Head Coach of Women's Hockey. "Hartje had a great effort and continues to drive this team."
With the victory, Cornell improves to 22-6-1 overall and they have earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Tournament. The Big Red will have a bye in the opening round. The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the Bulldogs who will compete as the No. 6 seed in the postseason tournament. Yale will host Union in the opening round on Feb. 24 at Ingalls Rink.
