HISTORY LESSONS
Â
Yale is looking to sweep the season series from Dartmouth.
Danny Wolf scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Bulldogs cruised to a 76-51 win over the Big Green in Hanover on Jan. 20. Yale held Dartmouth to 29 percent from the field, and the Big Green made only 15 field goals in the game. It was Yale's ninth straight win at Leede Arena. The Bulldogs had their 12-game home winning streak against Dartmouth snapped last year when the Big Green came into Lee Amphitheater and won 81-77. Yale has won 14 of the last 15 meetings with Dartmouth and lead the all-time series 122-98. The first meeting came in 1900, a 10-8 Yale win in a game played in Boston.
Â
The Bulldogs are looking to sweep the season series from Harvard for the third straight season. Back on Jan. 27,
August Mahoney and
John Poulakidas each scored 22 points as Yale topped the Crimson 78-65 at a sold-out Lavietes Pavilion. The Bulldogs shot 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from three-point range in the game. Yale has won the last two meetings at Lee Amphitheater, including 58-54 last year when Yale limited Harvard to 32.7 percent shooting from the field. Yale's 126 overall victories against the Crimson are the most against any opponent. The first meeting between the teams was a 41-16 Yale victory in 1901.
