CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was another record-breaking night for the Yale men's swimming and diving team at the Ivy League Championship.
Alexander Hazlett set a new school mark of 1:45.59 in the 200 individual medley, winning the B final to finish ninth overall.
After two days, the Bulldogs sit in third place with 382 points. Harvard leads the competition with 590 points followed by Princeton at 474 points.
Yale got another strong performance from a relay team.
Ben Meulemans, Deniel Nankov, Marcus Hodgson and
Lucius Brown finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:18.09.
Three Bulldogs advanced to the A final in the 50 freestyle. Nankov finished third in 19.72, Brown was fourth in 19.79 and Meulemans was eighth in 20.00.
Yale's top finisher in the 500 freestyle was
Konstantinos Zachariadis, who was 15th in 4:25.79.
In the 1-meter diving,
Nicholas Chau was ninth with a score of 315.65 and
Maks Sawoniewicz was 10th with a score of 302.10.
The competition resumes on Friday with the prelims at 11 a.m. and the finals at 6 p.m.
