Box Score CANTON, N.Y. -- The Yale women's ice hockey team fell to St. Lawrence 4-1 in the first game of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals on Friday evening at Appleton Arena.
The Saints scored a second-period goal and added three more tallies in the final frame to seal the victory over the Bulldogs.
Gracie Gilkyson netted the lone goal for the visitors. St. Lawrence leads the quarterfinals series 1-0 and can advance to the next round of the conference tournament with another win over the Bulldogs on Saturday.
"We had a quick start with some offensive pressure but didn't cash in. Their power play goal put us in more of a desperation mode which helped us get going," said
Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanaugh Head Coach of Women's Hockey. "Despite the results tonight, we had lots of positives to take away and we will be ready for game two tomorrow."
