NCAA Tournament Bracket
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Yale's NCAA Tournament journey will begin in Spokane, Washington. The Bulldogs earned a No. 13 seed and will face Auburn in the first round on Friday. The tip is set for 4:15 p.m. EDT (1:15 in Spokane) and the game will be televised nationally on TNT.
The team gathered at the Yale Club of New York to watch the selection show, the end of an exhilarating day. Just a few hours earlier,
Matt Knowling's basket as time expired earned Yale a thrilling victory over Brown in the championship game of the Ivy League Tournament. The Bulldogs didn't have to wait long to learn where they are headed as they were among the first pairings announced.
Yale will appear in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons, the fourth time under
James Jones, The Joel E. Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of the Bulldogs, and the seventh time in school history.
"We're just excited to play," Jones said. "I know Auburn is going to be a very tough opponent. We're excited to go out to Spokane and hopefully have a great first round game."
It's been another memorable season for Yale, which brings a 22-9 overall record into March Madness.
Auburn is coming off a resounding victory over Florida in the championship game of the SEC Tournament on Sunday. The Tigers are 27-7 overall and finished 13-5 in SEC play.
The Bulldogs played at Auburn during the 2021-22 season and fell 86-64.
Yale is making its second trip to Spokane. The Bulldogs played at Gonzaga way back on Nov. 10.
