After Snow Stops, Yale Defense Shines; No. 16 Bulldogs Win 15-5 at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – A winter storm that dumped a foot and a half of snow in Hanover, N.H., Saturday forced the postponement of the women's lacrosse game between No. 16 Yale and Dartmouth to Sunday. But that did little to disrupt Yale's defense, which entered the day ranked fourth in the nation in fewest goals allowed per game. With the game played under sunny skies on Sunday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field, the Bulldogs limited Dartmouth to 10 shots en route to a convincing 15-5 win. This was Yale's largest margin of victory against the Big Green in school history.

Dartmouth (5-3, 0-2 Ivy League) scored the game's first two goals and hung with the Bulldogs throughout the first half, trailing 7-4 at halftime. But Yale (8-0, 2-0 Ivy League) outscored the Big Green 6-1 in the third quarter and never looked back.

With the win Yale keeps pace atop the Ivy League standings with No. 15 Penn. The Quakers moved to 2-0 with an 18-8 win vs. No. 21 Harvard Sunday.
