NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Danny Wolf and
Nick Townsend, who helped Yale capture the Ivy League Tournament title and post an NCAA Tournament victory over Auburn, have been recognized for their work on the court and in the classroom by being named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.
Wolf, a unanimous first team All-Ivy selection, started 31 games and led the Bulldogs in scoring (14.1 ppg.) and rebounding (9.7 rpg.).
Townsend was one of only three Bulldogs to appear in all 33 games and averaged 6.0 ppg and 3.9 rpg.
To be eligible for the award student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and appear in 90 percent of the institutions games.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 17.
