NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanagh Head Coach of Women's Hockey has announced that rising senior Anna Bargman will serve as captain for the 2023-24 Bulldogs.

"Anna Bargman in an excellent choice as captain for next season and are thrilled to see her take over this important role," said Bolding. "Bargs has been the model of consistency for us since she has arrived both offensively and defensively so her experience in these situations will definitely help her lead the team, along with a great rising senior class. She learned a lot from her previous captains, Skarzynski, Dalton and Hartje, and this knowledge she obtained will really help her, and the team as we move into next season."

Bargman was one of the best offensive players for the Bulldogs this past season and was second on the team with 12 goals and third with 20 total points. Throughout three years, Bargman has recorded double-digit goals in every season and has totaled 77 career points. She is a two-time All-Ivy selection and excels in the classroom as an ECAC All-Academic recipient. 

"I am extremely honored to have this opportunity to captain such a driven group of players. We have a very deep senior class so It's a privilege to be able to lead the team with them," Bargman said. "It's very exciting to be able to have almost the entire team returning, and to be able to be a leader for the group of new players that will join us soon as well."

Bargman made sure to recognize the fantastic leaders who mentored her throughout her tenure as a Bulldog.

"I very much respect and look up to the work that the captains before me have put into the team. The successes of the team over the past four years has changed the course of Yale Women's Hockey, to have another year to continue and further this success is a surreal opportunity," said Bargman.

The Bulldogs are slated to graduate two seniors and will return a strong rising senior class which includes Bargman and fellow All-Ivy recipients Vita Poniatovskaia and Pia Dukaric.
