PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 2-seeded Yale softball team fell to No. 3-seeded Harvard, 12-4, in nine innings to open the 2024 Ivy League Tournament. The tournament is a double-elimination format.
 
How it Happened

• T1 | Harvard jumped out to an early two-run lead with a single that knocked in a run and a sacrifice fly.
• B3 | Yale bounced back in the third, scoring two runs to tie it after Willa Ferrer reached on a fielder's choice and two runs scored on an error.
• B4 | The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game in the fourth. Katie Donahey led off with an infield single for the first baserunner of the inning. With two outs, Lauren Perren knocked in Donahey with a single through the right side.
• B5 | With two on and two out, it was Donahey who struck a double down the left field line to give Yale a two-run lead.
• T7 | Harvard found the equalizer with a two-out, two-run home run tie it.
• T9 | The Crimson rallied in extra innings with eight runs.

• Emma Taylor pitched 7.1 innings for Yale with two strikeouts.
• Libby Peoples went 2-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases.
• Katie Donahey went 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI, and one run scored.
