NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three members of the Yale field hockey team have been chosen to attend USA Field Hockey's U-21 Junior Women's National Team Selection Camp:
USA Field Hockey announced the selections Wednesday. The camp will take place in January 2025, with dates and location to be determined.
All three Bulldogs earned their spots after competing at the Nexus Championships last month at USA Field Hockey's Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Caldero and Chang competed at the Junior Nexus Championship and Ramsey competed at the Senior Nexus Championship. Nexus is USA Field Hockey's Olympic Development Pathway Program, and part of the tryout process for the Junior U.S. National Teams.

Caldero has been selected for USA Field Hockey's Nexus program for four straight years now. In 2021 she won silver at the Nexus Championship and went on to earn bronze at the U16 Junior Olympics. At Greenwich Academy she was an NFHCA All-Region selection in 2022 and was a Max Field Hockey Top 100 Player for the Class of 2024. She helped her team win Fairchester Athletic Association titles in 2022 and 2023 and finish first in Class A at the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Championship in 2022.

Chang has also been selected for USA Field Hockey's Nexus program for four straight years now. In 2022 she was selected for the U19 Stars and Stripes Elite game. At St. John's School she earned first team All-America honors from the NFHCA and from MAX Field Hockey. She was selected as a MAX Field Hockey Top 150 Player for the Class of 2024 and was the MAX Field Hockey Texas/Oklahoma Player of the Year in 2023. She helped her team win Southwest Preparatory Conference Championships in 2022 and 2023.

This is the second straight year Ramsey has been chosen for the U-21 Junior Women's National Team Selection Camp. She has also been selected for Nexus Championships in each of the past four years, and she was selected for the U16 Junior Olympics in 2021. This past season at Yale Ramsey became a key part of the attack immediately, appearing in all 16 games and starting 15. She was named second team All-Mideast Region and first team All-Ivy League. Ramsey is a graduate of Oak Knoll School, where she was a third team NFHCA All-American in 2021 and 2022.

This was the second year in a row Yale had players selected for the Nexus Championships. Last year
Emma Ramsey was selected for the Junior Nexus Championship and her older sister, senior forward
Lily Ramsey (Summit, N.J.), was selected for the Senior Nexus Championship.
In addition to players, multiple Yale coaches are involved in the Nexus program.
