NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Junior forward Poppy Beales (King's Lynn, Norfolk, England), who totaled five points in helping the Yale field hockey team go 2-0 this past weekend, has been named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week. The league announced the award Monday afternoon.

Beales scored both Yale goals in Friday's 2-1 overtime win vs. Penn, including the game-winner. That gives her five goals for the season, tied for first in the Ivy League. She now has five career game-winning goals, all in the last 14 games. Last season she had four game-winning goals in a span of five games, including three in overtime.

Beales had an assist in Sunday's 4-2 win vs. Quinnipiac. With 12 points on the season (5-2-12), Beales now ranks second in the Ivy League. The Bulldogs improved to 6-2 overall, their best start since 1998.

Beales is a graduate of Framlingham College. In addition to playing for Harleston Magpies Hockey Club and Pelicans Hockey Club, she was a U18 England trialist in 2021.
