NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team visits archrival Harvard Saturday (2:00 p.m.,
ESPN+,
International Stream,
Live Stats,
Tickets). Harvard currently sits one game behind 4-0 Columbia in the Ivy League standings, while the Bulldogs are two games behind the Crimson.
Last Weekend
Yale (2-15, 1-3 Ivy League) scored a season-high 70 points in
beating Dartmouth 70-67 Monday night in Hanover. The Bulldogs
lost at home to Columbia last Saturday, 84-64.
Seniors Lead the Way in Scoring
Yale's top three scorers all come from the senior class:
- Guard/Forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.): 16.3 points per game
- Forward Grace Thybulle (Irvington, N.Y.): 7.1 points per game
- Guard Avery Lee (Los Altos Hills, Calif.): 6.1 points per game
Those numbers are career highs for all three. Thybulle (.507) and Egger (.474) are the team's top two in shooting percentage.
Egger Excels on the Boards
If senior guard/forward
Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) keeps up her current pace of 9.7 rebounds per game, she would end the regular season with 252 rebounds – a total that would rank tied for sixth in school history.
Erica Davis '07 had 252 rebounds in 2006-07. Yale's single-season rebound record is 279, set by
Barb Liebowitz '78 in 1975-76. Egger leads the Ivy League in rebounding.
Career High in Assists for Capstraw
With 10 games left in the regular season, junior guard
Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.) has already surpassed her single-season best in assists. Capstraw has 39 assists (12th in the Ivy League), six more than her previous high.
Scouting Harvard
Harvard (14-2, 3-1 Ivy League) was among the teams receiving votes in the most recent Associated Press national poll. The Crimson has won eight straight home games dating back to last season (their last home loss was Feb. 18, 2024, 71-63 to Columbia). Harvard has limited opponents to .376 shooting in league games this year, and has forced 82 turnovers in those four games. Both of those numbers rank second in the league.
