Bulldogs Fall to Quinnipiac 2-1

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team came up just short against ECAC rival Quinnipiac on Friday night at M&T Bank Arena. The Bobcats topped the Bulldogs 2-1 thanks to a pair of second-period goals. First year Cami Bell tallied Yale's lone goal in the waning seconds of regulation.

With the victory, the Bobcats improved to 16-8-3 overall with a 7-6-2 conference record. The Bulldogs fell to 11-9-2 with a ECAC Hockey mark of 6-8-2.

  • Yale and Quinnipiac played twice earlier in the season. Both contests were decided in a shootout. The Bobcats prevailed in the first meeting on Oct. 26, while the Bulldogs won the shootout-format in the finals of the Nutmeg Classic on Nov. 30.
  • Bell tallied her team-leading 12th goal of the season.
  • The Bulldogs have come up just short on several occasions this season. The Elis have lost six games by just a single goal.
  • Despite the loss, Yale goaltender Pia Dukaric was outstanding throughout the game. The senior netminder matched a season-high of 32 saves.
