Yale Places Fourth at Princeton Fall Classic

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale women's cross country team took fourth place (139 points) among 25 teams at the Princeton Fall Classic Friday morning on the 6K Meadows Campus Course. Boise State (55 points) won, edging host Princeton by two points. Utah Valley's Morgan Nokes finished first individually (19:29.7) in a field of 270 finishers.

The Bulldogs were third out of of six Ivy League teams at the race, trailing second-place Princeton (57 points) and third-place Penn (131 points). The Bulldogs finished ahead of Cornell (seventh place, 229 points), Columbia (eighth place, 230 points) and Dartmouth (17th place, 466 points).

The field also included three of the eight teams currently ranked ahead of Yale in the Northeast Region. The Bulldogs finished ahead of all of them, besting Syracuse (third in the Northeast, 19th at the Princeton Fall Classic), UConn (fourth in the Northeast, fifth at the Princeton Fall Classic) and Columbia (sixth in the Northeast, eighth at the Princeton Fall Classic). Updated rankings come out next week.
