NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team is set to open its 2025-26 season at Brown on Saturday, Nov. 1. Events are slated to begin at noon.
"The energy and camaraderie of the '25-'26 team have been nothing short of extraordinary," said
Jim Henry, Robert J.H. Kiphuth Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving. "We're thrilled to kick off the season officially, especially after breaking pool records in our first two scrimmages. We cannot wait to compete together this week in Providence."

Making a Splash in the Record Books
The Bulldogs got the season off to a strong start last week, as the 800-yard free relay quartet of
Lucy Walker,
Caroline McCurdy,
Jessey Li, and
Mabel Koff broke the Kiphuth Exhibition Pool record with a time of 7:22.77 in a scrimmage against UMass.
The Captain
Yale is led this season by Li, who's been a standout performer during her time at Yale. She holds the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke. She earned Second Team All-Ivy Honors for the second straight year after capturing the silver medal in the 100 breaststroke at the Ivy League Championships. Li is also a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100 breaststroke (2021, 2024) and is a recipient of the Davies Award, Ali Truwit Perseverance Award, and Team High Point Award.
Fresh Faces
The Bulldogs welcome eight first years and one transfer to the roster this season. Walker joins from UNC, while

Penny Zarczynski,
Lola Malarky,
Angela Wang, and
Lauren Putnam are set to make their collegiate debuts, bringing strong credentials in and out of the pool.
Lai, Horenkamp Return for Senior Campaigns
Divers
Paige Lai and
Lily Horenkamp return to the Bulldogs for their senior seasons and have had strong careers at Yale. Lai competed at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships for the third time in 2024 after qualifying on the 1-meter board (561.70) and finishing within the top 12 on the 3-meter board (602.40) at the Zone A Diving Championships. Horenkamp qualified for the 1-meter after placing fifth with a score of 571.30.
Excellence on the Court and the Classroom
The Bulldogs earned 2024-25 Spring Team Scholar All-America accolades, the CSCAA announced in July. The Bulldogs also had 13 athletes on the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. To earn the prestigious Scholar All-America accolades, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher during the Spring 2025 semester. Individually, to qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated at their national championship. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
