PRINCETON, N.J. – Alex Chang delivered a sensational goal with nine minutes remaining, as the Yale women's soccer team snapped a seven-game losing streak in dramatic fashion, defeating Princeton, 1-0, on Saturday evening at Roberts Stadium to earn their first Ivy League victory of the season.
"I'm so proud of our team," said
Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "We have had a tough stretch, but we knew we were doing the right things, and the spell was going to break."
"Defensively we were unbelievable tonight," Martinez added. "Physical, organized and didn't miss a step. We created some very good things, especially in the second half, and a ridiculous strike by Alex gave us the one we needed. Our group gets to enjoy this one because it feels good and we will shift to our preparation for Harvard tomorrow."
