Last Time Out
- Four Bulldogs scored in double figures as the Bulldogs cruised past Navy, 97–68, in its season opener Friday night at the 12th Annual Veterans Classic.
- After Navy surged ahead with a 10-0 run to take an 18-9 lead at the 12:03 mark of the first half, the Bulldogs' offense took off.
- Yale's next 15 points all came from beyond the arc, fueled by Nick Townsend, who accounted for 12 of them.
- The Bulldogs continued to push the pace, closing the half on a dominant 20-5 run to take a 46-31 lead into the break.
- Yale then opened the second half with a 14-0 burst and never looked back.
Notables vs. Navy
- Riley Fox delivered an outstanding performance, leading the team with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting. He went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, added four rebounds, and recorded two steals — with 16 of his points coming in the second half.
- Townsend also had a big game, scoring 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-6 from deep, while adding nine rebounds and five assists. 16 of his points came in the first 11 minutes of play.
- Yale shot 52.9% (18-of-34) in the second half, and 50% overall (33-of-66) in the contest.
- Trevor Mullin set a new career high with 14 points.
- Samson Aletan recorded five blocks, the most on the team and tying his career high.
- Daniel Ogunyemi (five points, four rebounds), Jack Sullivan (three points), Courtney Wallace (two points), and Alvin Loving all made their collegiate debuts.
Season Notes
- Yale was ranked No. 5 in the Preseason Mid Major Top 25 on Oct. 27.
- The Bulldogs were unanimously selected to finish first in the Ivy League Preseason Poll on Oct. 23.
- Townsend was tabbed to the Field of 68 Mid-Major Preseason All-American First Team on Oct. 10.
- Jones was appointed to the NABC Board of Directors on Sept. 3.
Scouting the Bobcats
- Quinnipiac enters the matchup with a 1-1 overall record.
- The Bobcats are coming off a 71-49 victory over Central Connecticut State in their home opener on Thursday night.
- In the win, Amarri Monroe registered 20 points, eight rebounds, and four steals to lead the team.
- Monroe was named to the Field of 68 Mid-Major Preseason All-America Second Team and was also tabbed as the 2025 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year.
- Monroe paced Quinnipiac last season averaging 18.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game.
- The Bobcats were picked to finish first in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
- Quinnipiac is 4-3 against Yale during the Bobcats' Division I era.
- In last season's meeting in New Haven, Yale earned an 88–62 victory. In that win, Isaac Celiscar had an impressive collegiate debut, recording 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds. As a team, the Bulldogs outscored the Bobcats 40–18 in points in the paint.
