NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's swimming & diving team made a splash in its first official home meet of the season on Friday evening, defeating Columbia, 213-87, at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.
The Bulldogs won every single event, led by standout performances from
Caroline Riggs,
Sara Plunkett, and
Jessey Li, who each claimed two individual victories.
The Results
- 1M Dive: Grace Wu won the event with a score of 277.95.
- 200-yard Medley Relay: Devyn Sargent, Li, Penny Zarczynski, and Plunkett teamed up for a strong win, clocking in at 1:40.70.
- 1000-yard Freestyle: Riggs earned her first victory of the evening, finishing in 10:08.43.
- 200-yard Freestyle: Julia Ebli claimed the top spot with a time of 1:52.59.
- 100-yard Backstroke: Sargent secured the win in 55.49.
- 100-yard Breaststroke: Li earned her first win of the meet, posting a 1:01.51.
- 200-yard Butterfly: Angela Wang took first place with a time of 2:05.46.
- 50-yard Freestyle: Plunkett won with a time of 23.78.
- 3M Dive: Lola Malarky won the first individual collegiate event of her career with a score of 294.53.
- 100-yard Freestyle: Plunkett notched her second triumph of the night, finishing in 52.10.
- 200-yard Backstroke: Mabel Koff won the event with a time of 2:00.60.
- 200-yard Breaststroke: Li notched her second victory with a time of 2:17.49.
- 500-yard Freestyle: Riggs won her second event of the night at 4:58.23.
- 100-yard Butterfly: Ele Donegan finished first in 55.88.
- 200-yard IM: Lucy Walker claimed the event with a time of 2:04.61.
- 200-Yard Freestyle Relay: Ebli, Plunkett, Caroline McCurdy, and Li closed out the meet with a winning time of 1:33.57.
