NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the second consecutive year, Vignesh Gogineni of the Yale men's tennis team will compete at the NCAA Individual Championships, which are set to take place at the USTA National Campus. Gogineni will square off against Amirkhamza Nasridinov from Auburn in the round of 64 on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
 
How He Qualified
Gogineni, enters the event after being ranked at No. 33 in the ITA preseason rankings and securing his NCAA berth at the ITA New England Regionals. He picked up a straight-set victory over Melchior Delloye from Harvard (7-5, 7-6) in the semifinals to secure his spot, and finished regional play as a co-champion and finished regional play as a co-champion.
 
NCAAs Rewind
Last year at the NCAA Championship, Gogineni was defeated in his opening match. He faced off against Cooper Williams of Duke, and Williams emerged with a straight-set victory by scores of 6-3 and 6-4.
