Second-Half Surge Lifts Loyola (Md.) Past Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – On Sunday afternoon against Loyola (Md.) at John J. Lee Amphitheater, the Yale women's basketball team led at halftime for the second game in a row. But as Providence did on Friday night, the Greyhounds rallied past the Bulldogs in the third quarter and eventually came away with the win. Loyola's 24 point outburst in the third proved too much for the Bulldogs to overcome, and the Greyhounds wound up winning 73-48.

Yale led 27-26 at halftime, having gotten nine points from sophomore guard Ciniya Moore (on her way to a team-best 11). Loyola took a 29-27 lead on a three-pointer by Koi Sims at 7:57 of the third, part of an 8-0 run to start the second half for the Greyhounds. They ended the quarter on a 6-0 run that turned a nine-point lead into a 15 point lead. Loyola outscored Yale 23-13 in the fourth to finish off the victory.
