NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale quarterback Dante Reno has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 24.
In the Bulldogs' historic 45-28 victory over No. 10 Harvard, Reno played the finest game of his football career, going 15-19 for 273 yards, three touchdowns and zero turnovers. His performance featured multiple passes of 60+ yards, including a 64-yard deep pass to wide receiver Nico Brown to put the Bulldogs up 24-7 in the second quarter.
"We didn't have anything to lose," Reno said. "I went out there and knew I was going to trust my guys, play fast and make a bunch of great throws and they'll make great catches."
Reno has developed into one of the Ivy League's most-consistent passers throughout his sophomore season, finishing the regular season campaign with 2,040 yards and 17 passing touchdowns. His 67.3% completion and 155.3 efficiency rating are both good for second in the Ivy League.
The Bulldogs will turn their attention to the Ivy League's first-ever campaign in the FCS Playoffs, going on the road to face off against 15th-seeded Youngstown State on Saturday, Nov. 29 at noon. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
