Kastl Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- First-year forward Dorka Kastl (Budapest, Hungary), who totaled 13 rebounds and six blocks in three games last week, has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. The league announced the award Monday afternoon.

Kastl made her Yale debut Tuesday against Quinnipiac, pulling down five rebounds in just 23 minutes and adding a pair of blocks. She made her first career start Friday at Providence, scoring her first four career points and adding a pair of rebounds. On Sunday against Loyola (Md.) she started again and led the team with six rebounds and four blocks. That was the most blocks in a game by a Bulldog since Mackenzie  Egger '25 blocked four against BU Dec. 29, 2024.

Kastl is a graduate of Holderness School. She was Class C All-NEPSAC senior and junior years. She helped Hungary win the FIBA U-20 EuroBasket Division B championship this past summer.

Yale visits American Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
