STORRS, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team fell to No. 8 UConn in the championship game of the Nutmeg Classic on Saturday evening in Storrs, Conn. Julia Pellerin scored the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining to propel the Huskies over the Bulldogs, 3-2.
The event featured four of the top hockey programs in Connecticut. Yale dominated Sacred Heart 5-0 on Friday to earn a spot in the championship game. The Huskies defeated Quinnipiac to secure their place in the finals. The Bulldogs won last year's event and have made the finals in three consecutive seasons.
With the victory, UConn improved to 12-3-1 overall. Yale dropped to 8-6 overall.
