CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 16 Yale field hockey team fell to No. 5 Princeton Friday afternoon 3-0 in the Ivy League Tournament Semifinals at Harvard's Berylson Field. The Tigers, the No. 2 seed in the Ivy Tournament, scored a goal in each of the first three quarters – including two on penalty corners – en route to the victory.
Yale falls to 12-5 overall (4-3 Ivy League), while Princeton improves to 14-3 (6-1 Ivy League).
The Bulldogs must now await the NCAA Tournament selections to learn if their season continues. Those selections will be announced Sunday at 10:00 p.m. ET on
ncaa.com.

- Princeton grabbed a 1-0 lead on a penalty corner at 4:01. After first-year goalkeeper Amelie Schwarzkopf went down and made the initial save on a shot by Ottilie Sykes, inserter Pru Lindsey knocked in the rebound.
- The Tigers extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal at 17:40 in the second quarter. Ella Hampson drove in from the right side and drew Schwarzkopf out, then passed across to Anna Faulstich to tap it in.

- In the fourth quarter, sophomore forward/midfielder Chiara Picciafuoco generated Yale's best scoring chance. She stole the ball near Princeton's 23 meter line and dribbled in for a high shot that Princeton goalkeeper Olivia Caponiti knocked away at the 50:07 mark.

- Yale remains tied for the third-most wins in a season in school history with 12. The school record is 15, set in 1998.
- This was Yale's first Ivy League Tournament appearance.
- No. 3 Harvard beat No. 19 Brown 2-0 in the earlier Ivy League Tournament Semifinal game Friday. The Crimson will play Princeton for the tournament championship, and the Ivy League's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament, Sunday at noon.
- Following the conclusion of the tournament, Picciafuoco and junior back Hettie Whittington were named to the all-tournament team.
