NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team closed out its final meet of 2025 in impressive fashion, defeating Southern Connecticut State University 206–55 and UConn 184–77 on Thursday evening. Swimming competitions were held at SCSU's Hutchinson Natatorium, while diving took place at Yale's Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.
The Bulldogs turned in an outstanding showing, setting pool records in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay, while winning 13 of the meet's 16 events. Yale also had three double-event champions:
Devyn Sargent in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke,
Jessey Li in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, and
Morgan Cady in the 500- and 1000-yard freestyle.
The Results
- 200-yard medley relay: Sargent, Li, Penny Zarczynski, and Sara Plunkett delivered a standout performance, breaking the pool record with a time of 1:42.70.
- 1000-yard freestyle: Cady claimed first place, finishing in 10:40.96.
- 100-yard backstroke: Sargent touched the wall first with a time of 55.82.
- 100-yard breaststroke: Li captured the win with 1:02.76.
- 200-yard butterfly: Angela Wang took first place, clocking 2:05.22.
- 200-yard backstroke: Sargent secured another victory with a time of 2:02.94.
- 1M Dive: Lily Horenkamp won the event with a score of 269.75
- 3M Dive: Lola Malarky placed first with a score of 309.30
- 200-yard breaststroke: Li finished first, posting 2:19.48.
- 500-yard freestyle: Cady topped the field again with 5:05.11.
- 100-yard butterfly: Ele Donegan placed first with a time of 56.60.
- 200-yard IM: Lucy Walker won the event, touching in 2:06.99.
- 400-yard relay: Donegan, Plunkett, Caroline McCurdy, and Li closed the meet with a pool-record time of 3:28.53.
