Bulldogs Tie Cornell, Prevail in Shootout to Conclude Regular Season

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Yale women's ice hockey team wrapped up the regular season with a 1-1 tie against No. 4 Cornell on the road. With the score evened at one after regulation and an overtime period, the Bulldogs prevailed in a shootout against the Big Red. Goaltender Pia Dukaric was remarkable throughout, stopping 36 shots over the course of 65 minutes and all three shots during the shootout. 

Both teams earned 1.5 points in the standings with the tie. Cornell concluded the regular season with a 20-4-5 record and a 16-2-4 mark in the conference. Cornell has locked up the No. 1 seed and an opening-round bye in the ECAC Tournament. The Bulldogs finished sixth overall in the conference with a 15-11-3 record and a 10-10-2 mark in the ECAC. They will host 11th-seeded Dartmouth in the opening round of the conference tournament.

  • SHOOTOUT | Dukaric stopped all three attempts from Cornell. Cami Bell netted her shootout attempt to seal the victory.

  • The Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak against Cornell. 
  • Yale has won two of three shootouts this season.
  • Dukaric recorded a season-high 36 saves and was one save away from tying a career-high in her final regular season collegiate game.
  • Ray scored her seventh goal of the season.
  • DiAntonio recorded her team-leading 19th assist and 30th point of the season.
