NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 16 Yale men's lacrosse team fell to No. 8 Army, 14-3, in its home opener on Wednesday afternoon.
Army got off to a quick start, scoring immediately off the opening face off to take a 1-0 lead. The Black Knights continued to push the pace, as the visitors had six different goal scorers in the first quarter to take a 7-1 advantage. Army didn't look back the rest of the way.
Notable Performances
- Jack Stuzin, David Anderson, and William Sheehan each scored for Yale.
- Hugh Conrad made 12 saves.
- Machado Rodriguez was 6-of-14 on faceoffs.
- Rodriguez and Stuzin picked up three ground balls apiece.
- Army's Brayden Fountain and Gunnar Fellows netted three goals each.
- Army's goalie Sean Byrne made 16 saves.
- The Black Knights have held opponents to three goals in back-to-back games.
