NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale men's basketball junior forward Nick Townsend was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced on Tuesday.

The 2025 Academic All-District Basketball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-American program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Townsend, a Psychology major, has excelled in the classroom and on the court. He earned All-Ivy recognition and received CSC honors for the second consecutive year. The junior started all 30 games this season, averaging 15.4 points per game, the second highest on the team. Townsend also scored in double figures in 27 games and led the league with seven double doubles. Additionally, he ranked first on the team in rebounds per game (7.1), and is a finalist for the Nolan Richardson Award, which recognizes a Division I player who embodies the heart and soul of his team and demonstrates leadership on and off the court.

CSC Academic All-America honorees will be announced in April.
