Camp Named Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Brad Camp has been named assistant coach of the Yale men's soccer team as announced by Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach.

Camp was the Head Coach and Director of Soccer at Colorado Christian University from 2019-25, guiding the Cougars from a 1-17 record to a 10-5-1 mark in just three years at the helm. He ushered in the most successful era in program history, leading CGU to its first back-to-back winning season, its first RMAC Tournament qualification, and first win over Regis University in 20 years. In 2021, Camp coached the Cougars to their highest win total in school history. During his tenure at CGU, he coached 14 all-conference players.

"I am thrilled to add Brad and his wife and young kids, Ellen, Herbie, Harrison, and Eva to the Yale men's soccer family," Stannard said. "Brad is someone I tried to get to New Haven a few years ago and it's really exciting to see how quickly we are clicking together. He is making a huge move with his family and he is very determined to help re-elevate the program back to where we expect it to be, which is competing for championships."

Prior to CCU, Camp served as the assistant coach at Division I East Tennessee State for two seasons, during which he won a regular season conference championship. Camp also proved successful in the USL2 ranks as a head coach. In the Summer of 2022, he led the Flatirons to a 7-3-2 record and a trip to the national tournament.

"Brad was a successful Division I assistant before and has shown he can shoulder a lot of responsibilities and do some heavy lifting when leading one of the lowest-ranked Division II programs in the country to historic seasons in '21 and '22, and then sustaining this at a competitive level in one of the top 3-4 conferences in the country. Brad is a winner yet very humble on and off the field and brings a positive, but intense energy that I love," Stannard said.

Camp holds national B, C, D, E and Youth licenses in coaching education from the U.S. Soccer Federation. He also has goalkeeper level I and II licenses and Director of Coaching diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches. Camp was an assistant coach at Maryville College as well as the Head Coach for the Knoxville Force of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). He also received accolades in the youth game serving as a Director of Coaching at FC Alliance, Region III Staff coach in the Olympic Development Program, and countless other roles.

"I am extremely excited to join the Yale men's soccer family. I am humbled by the trust Coach Stannard has placed in me, and very grateful to him for that," Camp said.

Camp played collegiate soccer at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) where he manned the left back position. During his senior campaign he was named a TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athlete. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Trevecca Nazarene in 2010. He also holds a master's degree and Ph.D. from Middle Tennessee State University in that field of study as well; earning them in 2012 and 2015, respectively.

"I know it's a privilege to be here, so I will work hard every day to make our team and our program success. I have always been a bulldog in the way I work, so I'm right at home here," Camp said.
