NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team hosts Brown Saturday (2:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets). It is Senior Day, and the Bulldogs will honor the Class of 2025.

Last Weekend
Yale (4-22, 3-10 Ivy League) split a pair of Ivy League road games last weekend, beating Cornell Friday and losing at Columbia Saturday. The game at Cornell came down to the final seconds, with senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) hitting the go-ahead basket with nine seconds left and later making two critical free throws to help seal the 48-46 win.

Salute to the Seniors
Saturday marks the final game for Yale's three seniors: The trio has been a part of 41 wins, and all have started at least 19 games this season. They will be honored before the game.

Egger's Chance to Make Yale Women's Basketball History
Since the NCAA began keeping official records of women's basketball stats in 1981-82, no Bulldog has led the Ivy League in rebounding. Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) has a chance to change that. She currently leads the league in rebounding (9.3 rebounds per game) and is averaging 1.3 more rebounds per game than the next-closest player, Brown's Gianna Aiello.

Yale's record for rebounds in a season is 279, set by Barb Liebowitz '78 in 1975-76. Egger is at 233 rebounds, which ranks ninth in Yale history.

New Highs for Lee
Senior guard Avery Lee (Los Altos Hills, Calif.) has posted the best numbers of her Yale career this season, setting career highs in games started (21, the first starts of her career) and assists (46; previous high was 14). She is averaging 5.4 points per game, more than three points better than her previous career best (2.1, 2022-23). She has 60 rebounds – doubling her previous best (30, 2022-23). Lee, who interned in event operations with the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders last summer, works part-time in the Yale Athletics Department.

Thybulle Enjoying Career-Best Year
Senior forward Grace Thybulle (Irvington, N.Y.) is on pace for career highs in multiple categories:
  • Points per game (7.1; previous high 6.7 2023-24)
  • Rebounds per game (4.8; previous high 3.9 2023-24)
  • Assists per game (1.7; previous high 0.3 2022-23 and 2023-24)

Scouting Brown
Brown (11-15, 5-8 Ivy League) snapped a six-game losing streak with a 38-36 win at Cornell last Saturday. The Bears enter the weekend in fifth place, one game behind fourth-place Penn for the final spot in the Ivy League Tournament. Based on the Ivy League Tournament Tiebreakers, a win by the Bears on Saturday coupled with a loss by Penn would lead to the fourth spot in the Ivy League Tournament being determined by the third tiebreaker between two teams – NCAA NET Ranking, where as of Thursday morning Penn sits at 163 and Brown is at 183.
