NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team split a pair of games on day two of the Bulldog Invitational, earning a 7-3 victory over Central Connecticut State University before falling 3-0 to the University of Maine later in the day. The Bulldogs moved to 5-9 overall, while the Blue Devils dropped to 2-13 and the Black Bears improved to 4-13.
Game 1: Yale 7, Central Connecticut 3
- B1 | Yale struck first, bringing in a run after Sophie Woodridge was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. (YAL 1, CCSU 0)
- B3 | Three consecutive singles gave CCSU the momentum to tie the game and take the lead. (CCSU 2, YAL 1)
- B5 | After a scoreless fourth inning, the Bulldogs evened the score. Ava Kang, pinch running for Lauren Perren after a leadoff single, advanced around the bases and scored on a wild pitch.
