NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team split a doubleheader with Dartmouth, falling 5–1 in the opener before bouncing back with a 5–2 victory in Game 2. With the split, Yale moved to 19–23 overall and 7–10 in Ivy League play, while Dartmouth sits at 16–15 overall and 9–5 in the conference.
Game 1: Dartmouth 5, Yale 1
- B2 | Ella Cross reached on a bunt single and advanced to third on a throwing error. With two outs, Kaitlyn Oikle dropped a bunt along the left-field line to bring Cross home. (Yale 1, Dartmouth 0)
- T6 | Dartmouth's bats came alive in the sixth. Justice Malone tied the game with a deep hit down the right-field line. In the next at-bat, Olivia Schramm's bunt scored Malone. Back-to-back bases-loaded singles from Lauren Ben-Ezra and Alaana Panu brought in two more runs. (Dartmouth 4, Yale 1)
- T7 | The Big Green added another run in the seventh with an RBI single down the right-field line. (Dartmouth 5, Yale 1)
Game 2: Yale 5, Dartmouth 2
- B1 | SJ Mull and Isabella Fortini reached base with back-to-back walks. With runners on the corners, Lauren Perren drove in Mull with a single to center. (Yale 1, Dartmouth 0)
- B4 | Katie Donahey led off with a bunt single, followed by an Oikle walk. Fortini singled up the middle, scoring both runners. Perren then brought in Fortini with a single through the left side. (Yale 4, Dartmouth 0)
- T5 | Dartmouth responded with back-to-back RBI singles to trim the lead. (Yale 4, Dartmouth 2)
- B6 | Alex Perren led off with a single and advanced on a Donahey walk. A wild pitch moved both runners up a base, and Perren came home on a groundout. (Yale 5, Dartmouth 2)
Game Notes
- Hannah Turner earned the win, pitching four innings and allowing just one hit.
- Lauren Perren and Katie Donahey both went 2-for-2 at the plate in Game 2. Perren added two RBI and two walks, while Donahey scored a run and drew a walk.
- Yale collected five stolen bases across the two games, with steals from Donahey, Fortini, Ava Kang, and SJ Mull (2). The Bulldogs continue to lead the Ivy League in stolen bases.
