NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four members of the Yale women's tennis team have been honored with Ivy League recognition, as announced on Thursday afternoon.
Julia Werdiger was named Rookie of the Year, marking the first time a Yale player has earned the honor since 2018.
Orly Ogilvy secured a spot on the First Team All-Ivy for singles and was also named to the Second Team in doubles alongside partner
Erin Ha. Additionally,
Shyla Aggarwal received Second Team honors in singles and
Jamie Kim earned Academic All-Ivy accolades.
Werdiger, had an impressive first season as a Bulldog, playing the majority of her time at the No. 4 position, posting a strong 12-6-3 DNF overall record, and went 6-1-2 DNF in Ivy action. The standout first-year also went undefeated at the ECAC Championships and notched big wins over Penn State and Harvard.
Ogilvy, garnered First Team All-Ivy Honors for the second consecutive year. The Mississauga, Ontario native, delivered another strong season, competing at the No. 1 spot for Yale. She posted a 10-7-2 DNF overall record and went 5-3-2 DNF in Ivy League play.
Aggarwal, earned All-Ivy recognition for the first time in her career. Competing at the No. 2 spot, the sophomore posted an 8-7 record during the spring season and notched a pair of wins in Ivy League matches.
Ogilvy and Ha secured a dominant 6-1 win over third-ranked Michigan and went on to claim six spring dual match victories, including three within Ivy League play, all while competing at the No. 1 position.
Kim, an Economics major, has excelled on and off the court. A two-time captain for Yale, she has received the honor for two consecutive seasons and has also been named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the past two years.
