PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Yale softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Brown, falling 7-3 and 6-1 on Saturday in Providence. The Bulldogs move to 19-26 overall and 7-13 in Ivy League play, while the Bears improved to 27-13 overall and 11-6 in the conference.
Game 1: Brown 7, Yale 3
- B1 | Brown opened the scoring with a double to center field, followed by a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead.
- B2 | The Bears added another run with an RBI single to left. (Brown 3, Yale 0)
- B3 | A two-run double down the right field line extended Brown's lead to five, and they tacked on two more runs with a sacrifice fly and a groundout. (Brown 7, Yale 0)
- T7 | Lauren Perren put the Bulldogs on the board with a three-run home run to right center. (Brown 7, Yale 3)
Game 2: Brown 6, Yale 1
- B1 | The Bears again struck early with a two-run first inning.
- T4 | Yale cut the deficit in half when Katie Donahey drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. (Brown 2, Yale 1)
