Bulldogs Fall to No. 1 Cornell in Ivy League Semifinal

ITHACA, N.Y. – Nine Bulldogs tallied goals, but the Yale men's lacrosse team fell to No. 1 Cornell in the Ivy League tournament semifinals, 21-14, on Friday evening at Schoellkopf Field. The Big Red improved to 13-1, and Yale finished the season at 5-8.

Scoring Summary
  • Q1 | Cornell jumped out to an early 3-0 lead at the 11:33 mark, but Yale quickly responded. Kuhl put the Bulldogs on the board with his fifth goal of the season, cutting the deficit to 3-1. After another goal from Cornell, Krevsky netted his first of the quarter to bring Yale within two at 4-2 with 5:03 remaining. The Big Red then added two more goals to push their lead to four, but Krevsky answered again with his second of the frame, keeping the Bulldogs in striking distance at 6-3. After a lightning delay lasting just over an hour, the Bulldogs came out firing, as Sharp and Lyons tallied goals to trim the Cornell advantage to one. 6-5 CORNELL
  • Q2 | After Cashion netted his 14th goal of the season at the 12:23 mark, narrowing the gap to 7-6, Cornell's offense took off. The Big Red went on a five-goal run to build a 12-6 advantage with 7:50 remaining. However, Yale fought back, scoring three unanswered goals, ending with Lyons' second of the game, to trim the deficit to three at halftime.12-9 CORNELL
  • Q3 | Yale opened the quarter with momentum, as Krevsky tallied his third goal and Johnson added another to narrow the gap to 12-11 at the 12:25 mark. However, Cornell responded with a dominant stretch, scoring five of the next six goals ahead of another hour-long lightning delay to take a five-goal lead into the final quarter. 17-12 CORNELL
  • Q4 | Cornell continued to push the pace, starting the quarter with three straight goals to take a 20–12 lead. Gately and Sharp responded with goals in the final seven minutes, but the Big Red ultimately secured the victory. 21-14 CORNELL
