NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's soccer team fell to UConn, 1-0, on Thursday evening at Reese Stadium. The Huskies netted the game's only goal early in the second half and maintained their lead to secure the win.
The Bulldogs drop to 2-2-0, and UConn improves to 2-2-1.
"Disappointed in the way we came out tonight as I don't think we displayed our quality," said
Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer. "We still created chances and weren't good enough in the final 1/3."
"We have to regroup and turn the page to a really good Kansas team on Sunday," added Martinez.

Notes
- Vienna Lundstedt had an opportunity to score with a penalty kick in the 17th minute, but the UConn goalkeeper made the save.
- Yale had a big chance in the 74th minute when Anita Thorvaldsdottir set up Karoline Hernes in front of the goal, but the Husky goalkeeper came up with a crucial save.
- Holmes made three saves in the first half and finished with four in the game.
- The Bulldogs had four shots on goal.
