PRINCETON, N.J. – Three Bulldogs tallied double figures, but it wasn't enough as Princeton used a big second half to take down the Yale men's basketball team, 76–60, on Saturday afternoon at Jadwin Gymnasium.
With the victory, the Tigers improved to 6-11 (2-0 Ivy), and the Bulldogs dropped to 12-3 (1-1 Ivy).
Turning Point
After
Jordan Brathwaite tied the game at 36 with 10:11 remaining in the second half, Princeton responded with a five-point run to regain the lead, 41–36. Brathwaite answered with a layup, but the Tigers quickly countered with a three-pointer. Yale then scored four straight points to cut the deficit to 44–42, but Princeton responded with another three to push the lead to 47–42. The teams traded baskets over the next several possessions before the Tigers stretched their advantage to 11 points, 59–48, with 3:33 left. Princeton put the game away at the free-throw line, converting six straight to take a 70–57 lead with 56 seconds remaining and didn't look back the rest of the way.
Notable Performances
- Nick Townsend tallied a team-high 13 points, was 3-of-3 from the free throw line and had five rebounds and an assist.
- Samson Aletan recorded 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting with eight rebounds, an assist and a steal.
- Trevor Mullin had 10 points, nine of which came from three.
- Brathwaite tallied nine points, all of which came in the second half.
- Riley Fox chipped in with seven points, an assist, and a steal.
- Princeton's Jackson Hicke had a game-high 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
- The Tigers shot 59.1% overall (13-of-22), and 77.8% (7-of-9) from three in the second half.

"We've been spoiled by some success we've had over the years. Princeton came out, they had a really good game plan, they worked really hard at it. They did a good job of executing it. We just need to be better at our efforts moving forward. We did a poor job offensively today, and look to be better next time out."

- The Bulldogs struggled offensively, shooting 35.4% overall (23-of-65) in the game.
- The 23 made field goals for Yale marked a season low for the team.
- Townsend has recorded double-digit points in six consecutive games.
- Aletan has notched double-digit points in back-to-back games and eight or more rebounds in four of the last five games.
