BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Yale men's cross country team competed in the College Gold 8K at Lehigh's Paul Short Run Friday, placing 30th with a total of 755 points. Senior
Daegan Cutter was Yale's top finisher (55th, 25:04.6). He was sixth among Ivy League runners.
Wingate, the No. 1 team in the national DII poll, finished first (58 pts.). Penn State, ranked No. 7 in the Mideast Region, was second as a team (129 pts.) and had the top individual finisher in Nick Sloff (23:59.8).
The meet featured five of the top 15 teams in the latest USTFCCCA Northeast Region rankings, including the No. 12 Bulldogs. Stony Brook (ranked No. 8 in the region) was the top finisher from the Northeast, placing sixth with 227 points.
The Bulldogs:
- Senior Daegan Cutter (55th, 25:04.6) was sixth among Ivy League runners. He was 99th at the two-mile mark, then moved up 44 spots over the final 4.8K.
- Junior Lucas Cohen placed 160th with a time of 26:02.5.
- First-year Charlie Palmore (182nd, 26:10.8) and junior Seb Sutch (188th, 26:14.7) finished within four seconds of each other.
- Senior Guy Stevens (241st, 26:53.6) was Yale's final scorer.
- First-year Blake Sigworth (256th, 27:09.9) placed sixth on the team.
Notes:
- In the open men's 8K earlier in the day, sophomore Magnus Manley was Yale's top finisher. He placed sixth with a time of 25:08.1.
